Connect Chicago Brand Identity

Connect Chicago was founded in 2008 as an eco-boutique in Wicker Park. The Connect team needed to build a physical space from ground up that matched a powerful brand identity, which would seamlessly resonate with their pyschographic.

Identify the Possibilities
Connect Chicago needed to define its overall mantra and develop a world-class retail and event space in Wicker Park, with sustainability at the core.

Value the Audience
Connect Chicago delivered blended value to a new clientele through the creation of a retail and event space inspired by an art gallery. By the end of 2009, Connect raised over $10,000 for 501C3 not-for-profits from in-store events based on entertainment and selling socially responsible goods. Connect would see this as an ethical accolade and a powerful marketing vehicle. More importantly, their customer base came to realize that this team leads by example and truly believes in the triple bottom line - people, planet, profit.

Create Purpose-Driven Elements
We designed a long-term strategy for all brand communications, starting with the Connect logo and the tag line that would be the impetus for their first mission statement, "Sustainability. Creativity. Authenticity." We developed a delivery option where any customer within the Chicago city limits can purchase their goods from the online store and have their order delivered by a bicycle messenger, promoting sustainability and supporting the local community.

Holistic Brand Experience
The results are impressive. Connect opened a second retail location in the Lincoln Park neighborhood of Chicago in 2009 and we continue to collaborate on innovative brand communications and digital platforms today.
